      New England Skiing and Snowboarding

It's time to wax the skis! If you love hitting the slopes, Boston is just a stones throw away from the cold winter fun.  New England skiing is not the French Alps but does house some of the narliest trails on the planet.  New England skiing offers a beauty that many international skiers enjoy.

Massachusetts alone is home to 13 ski resorts.  Of the 13 you will find the larger mountain resorts on the western side of Massachusetts along the Berkshire mountain range.  On average the Berkshire resorts house between 45 to 35 trails at elevations around 1000'.

If you want to stay close, at half the travel distance you will find great medium size mountain skiing at Wachusett Mtn.  The central Mass resort contains 4 lifts, 2 carpet lifts, 20 trails and one high end snowboard park. Wachusett is about 50 minutes from Boston and the place to go if you don't want to spend money on lodging.

If you're looking to for a big ski weekend gettaway, the choices in New England are limitless.  Of all the New England States, Vermont packs the biggest punch. Vermont alone has 18 resorts to pick from. Resorts hover around 50 to 100 trails per mountain.  Monster resorts such as Killington, Okemo and Sugarbush tip the scales offering over 100 trails to choose from.  Sugarbush offers 111, Okemo 117 and Killington a mind blowing 200 trials.  More than enough trails for a weekend getaway.
